President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih, Home Minister Imran Abdullah and JP’s leader Qasim Ibrahim have boycotted the campaign event of Maumoon’s Reform Movement (MRM).
MRM held an event last night to award tickets to those who will be running in the upcoming parliamentary elections with the backing of former President Maumoon. MRM invited President Solih, Jumhoory Party’s leader Qasim Ibrahim, and Adhalath Party’s leader and Home Minister Imran Abdullah.
However, none of them attended the event. Speaking at the ceremony former President Maumoon expressed sadness due to their absence and said that the event was incomplete without them.
Former President Maumoon is also a leader of the ruling coalition. Though they agreed to contest for the parliamentary elections as a coalition as well, after MDP decided to contest for 86 seats, the other members of the coalition were forced to contest individually as well.
