Prominent businessmen Mr.Mohammed Zakee (Nazaki Zaki) has been appointed as the chairman of Maldives Ports Limited.
Mr.Zaki tweeted earlier today saying that he was committed to take result oriented measures for the good of the business community.
Mr.Zaki is an ex-ambassador to the Malaysia from Maldives and also serves as the chief advisor to Home Minister Imran Abdullah the leader of Adhalath Party.
He was appointed to the position on a slot of Adhalath Party. In the past few weeks many government positions have been awarded to members of the Adhalath Party. It is believed that the party has been rewarded by the administration for giving up some constituencies for MDP.
Initially Adhalath Party announced that the party intends to contest for 13 constituencies. However after a meeting held between AP’s leader Imran Abdullah and MDP’s leader Mohammed Nasheed, Mr.Imran announced that AP will contest for 8 seats.
At the moment Adhalath has just one seat in the parliament.
